Hi I’m Debi, Fly Me!

Remember that tagline to that 1974 airlines commercial? Well, obviously, I DO. I love old advertisements, old logos, old paper. I am nostalgic for a time I wasn’t even alive for in most cases. Loving all that paper stuff /ephemera lead me to collage. I let the paper tell me where to go. I add a little wink, maybe a tongue in cheekiness, a sense of mischief and fun.

Art can come in all sizes and price ranges. that’s how I came to do greeting cards. Why spend your money on a card that is mass produced, that someone is just going to read and throw away? Why not buy a card that is a - one of a kind - art piece? A card that can be put into a frame if desired, a card that will be saved. I mix my love of the old papers with old pieces. I add vintage stamps. They dress the envelope. They complete the package in the way an “EYeS LIKe WILMa” card should travel, in style! ( Vintage stamps are still usable y’know, as long as they add up to today’s postage rates; they are usable and appropriate .)

Why “EYeS LIKe WILMa” you may ask?! Okay I’ll show you my age- I grew up watching “The Flintstones.” I guess it was a huge influence to me. When I wake up with a sleepy face, I feel like I have “eyes like Wilma”!
